Description

The Role

The role is responsible for managing the domestic and international SMA rebalance processes by ensuring proposed trading activity is accurately analysed and validated. Once validated, the trades are allocated and sent to the appropriate Brokers for execution.

The team operates in a time-sensitive environment, with the morning SMA rebalance period being a critical part of the daily process. The team also support a range of investment operations activities more broadly, including Managed Funds, Bond and Term Deposits processing, Corporate Actions and domestic and international trade settling in various Custodians and registries.

  • You have strong demonstratable understanding of financial markets and how SMAs work/lifecycle of an SMA
  • You have worked in a role where you regularly assessed trade accuracy
  • You have experience with the IPS portfolio management system
  • You’ve had experience coaching and supporting others within trading, dealing or an SMA-adjacent operations environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the SMA rebalance pre-trade validation process
  • Get to the root cause of exceptions, breaks, cash, positions, restrictions and unusual trading activity
  • Authorise or challenge trades before they are released to brokers for execution
  • Drive stronger controls and better client outcomes
  • Support a small team and broader Investment Operations activities including Corporate Actions and trade settlement
