First Financial is seeking a Digital Solutions Specialist to join our Technology team and help design, build and support practical digital solutions that improve efficiency and enhance client and staff experiences.

Reporting to the Head of Technology Operations, you will work with specialists, subject matter experts and stakeholders across the Group to translate business requirements into fit-for-purpose solutions. You will apply modern technologies, including integrations, automation, basic scripting and generative AI, across a diversified financial services business.

As the Group continues to grow, you will help align systems, processes and technology to reduce complexity and create a more consistent experience for clients and employees.

About the Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Working with SMEs to identify, develop and implement AI and automation solutions that enhance productivity, client outcomes and internal workflows
• Collaborating with stakeholders to assess use cases and support the design and implementation of approved opportunities
• Translating business requirements into practical, scalable and maintainable digital solutions
• Assisting with the design, configuration and development of digital solutions, automations and integrations
• Supporting deployment, testing and controlled releases across development, test and production environments
• Monitoring, maintaining and supporting proprietary applications and implemented solutions
• Developing process documentation, guides and maps to support adoption and consistency
• Contributing to the Group’s digital transformation strategy and roadmap
• Working with external vendors, developers and technology partners to configure, test, troubleshoot and improve solutions
• Ensuring solutions meet internal policies, regulatory requirements, privacy principles, data integrity and cyber security standards
• Promoting the responsible, compliant and ethical use of AI technologies across the Group

About You

You are a solutions-focused technology professional who combines practical technical capability with strong business and stakeholder skills. You are organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working both collaboratively and autonomously.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Practical understanding of APIs, webhooks and how systems exchange data, including REST and JSON
• Basic scripting ability using JavaScript, Python, PowerShell or a similar language
• Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint and the broader Power Platform ecosystem
• Familiarity with integration and automation tools such as Power Automate, Zapier, Make or similar iPaaS platforms
• Demonstrated experience working with SMEs to develop technology-based solutions that drive sustained efficiency
• Strong process and systems thinking, with the ability to implement new processes across a diverse workforce
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to prioritise competing initiatives
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Experience in the following areas will be highly regarded:

• Financial advice, superannuation or wealth management platforms
• Using AI tools to enhance product capability, automation or business processes
• Power BI reporting and data visualisation
• Azure DevOps or similar project and pipeline management tools
• Data governance, privacy principles and regulatory requirements in financial services
• Working with vendor technical teams to configure, test or troubleshoot platform integrations
