Working at thePHO | Mahi ki tePHO

We are a remote-first organisation focused on practical support, equity, and delivering value to frontline healthcare providers.

We’re not a huge corporate finance department buried under layers of process.

We’re a lean, remote-first team that believes good systems, good data, and good people make a real difference. Every invoice paid, payroll processed, reconciliation completed, and report produced helps resources reach the people delivering healthcare in communities throughout Aotearoa.

You’ll work with a team that likes solving problems, helping each other out, and keeping things practical. We care about equity, we’re serious about Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and we’re always looking for ways to reduce complexity and make work easier for practices.

If you’re the kind of person who gets a small thrill from a balanced reconciliation, enjoys turning messy data into something useful, and likes knowing your work genuinely matters, you’ll probably fit right in.

About you | Ko wai koe

You’re an organised and detail-focused finance professional who enjoys getting the fundamentals right. With experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll support, or general finance administration, you take pride in producing accurate work and maintaining strong financial controls.

You’re confident using Excel and accounting systems, comfortable investigating discrepancies, and able to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines. Just as importantly, you bring a collaborative and customer-focused approach, building positive working relationships across the organisation and contributing to a supportive, high-performing team.

You’re proactive, reliable, and enjoy finding practical solutions that help the finance function run smoothly and efficiently.
