Truck Driver – Class 4

Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Class 4 Truck Driver to join our team in Rangiora, Canterbury. This permanent, full-time position is crucial for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of materials to commercial and residential customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards while contributing to our operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Operate Class 4 trucks to transport materials to various construction sites or addresses in a safe and efficient manner.
• Tip and / or spread to client requirements to minimise further handling and to required depth.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
• Assist with loading materials as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Ensure drivers logbook is correctly filled out in accordance with transport rules.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class 4 driver’s licence (Class 5 is an advantage).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of driving experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment safely.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Physical fitness to handle loading and unloading tasks.
• Computer literacy advantageous.

There is an opportunity for Saturday morning work on a rostered system to assist the Landscaping / Retail area.
