Trenching Operator

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Trenching Operator to join our team in Christchurch, Canterbury. The successful candidate will play a crucial role 3 Waters Team, ensuring safe and efficient trenching operations. This permanent, full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to various projects while working in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Operate trenching machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Excavate trenches for utilities, foundations, and drainage systems.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during operations.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with Foreman and other team members to coordinate tasks.
• Report any issues or hazards promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Separate materials while trenching.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in trenching.
• Valid New Zealand driver’s licence, up to and including Class 4 preferably.
• WTR Endorsement.
• Proven ability to operate trenching machinery and equipment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in the construction industry.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
• Ability to read and plans.
