Description

We are looking for a Communications Administrator to join our communications team. This is a part-time role working 20 hours per week (0.5 FTE) providing administrative and coordination support to our communications activities The days and hours to be worked will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Mō te tūnga| Role Overview 

You will be the person who helps keep the communications team organised and running efficiently. 

Your work will include: 

Coordinating day-to-day communications activities 

  • Preparing, formatting and proofreading documents, including basic graphics support 
  • Updating mailing lists, templates and image libraries 
  • Scheduling approved content across communication channels 
  • Managing files and communication records 
  • Assisting with newsletters, staff updates and other routine communications 
  • Providing administrative support to the wider team 

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll work closely with experienced communications professionals, providing the practical support that helps the team deliver high-quality work.

You’ll bring: 

  • An interest in building a career in communications 
  • Previous administration or office support experience 
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail 
  • Strong written English and proofreading skills 
  • Confidence using Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint 
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines 
  • A positive, friendly approach and a willingness to learn 
  • Great customer service and communication skills 

Experience with Canva, website content management systems or email marketing platforms would be helpful but isn’t essential, we can teach you those skills.
