Description

At McIntyre Dick, we believe in having the right people in the right seats. We focus on growing and developing our team, recruiting for role fit, potential and that little bit extra. A lot of what we do looks like what other accounting firms do. To some degree that’s true, but in reality two of our key differences are HOW we do it, and WHO we have as part of our team.

The role

We’re looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our energetic Bookkeeping team. You’ll be engaging with clients daily through bookkeeping and GST preparation and filing services – it’s work that’s far from ordinary.

Your days will include:

  • Being the “go to” person for a range of bookkeeping clients
  • Solving complex bookkeeping challenges
  • Preparing GST returns and managing accounts payable and receivable
  • Playing a key role in delivering great outcomes for our clients
  • Being a super-user of professional accounting software and identifying opportunities to introduce tools that really make a difference to the businesses we work with

You’ll have the flexibility to balance professional growth with personal commitments, so you can thrive both professionally and personally.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for an Accounting Technician or someone with similar experience in bookkeeping and financial administration services. You’ll have:

  • A curiosity to find better ways of doing things
  • Technical proficiency in financial software like Xero, Farm Focus, Figured, or MYOB
  • A background in financial administration services, including accounts payable and receivable, GST preparation and filing, and bank reconciliations
  • An ability to juggle multiple clients and deadlines
  • An eye for detail and exceptional accuracy
  • Fantastic planning and organisational skills
  • Exceptional communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Passion for delivering quality work to clients
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Your path with us

We’re not just looking for skills – we’re looking for potential. If you’re passionate about accounting and eager to grow, we want to hear from you. Team fit and willingness to learn are just as important as technical expertise. We believe to be successful you must be driven, people focused, and inspire the people around you.

Why you’ll get as part of our team

  • Competitive salary with flexible working arrangements
  • Inner city parking and a quick commute
  • Weekly and monthly team connection, regular recognition, and our annual Big Day Out where you can bring your partner or significant other
  • A workplace culture centred on health, wellbeing and that something extra

We invest in your growth:

  • Personalised professional development plans
  • Learning and development support to help you achieve your goals
  • Internal and external training programs to build your career skills
  • Mentoring and coaching from industry leaders
  • Clear pathways for career progression across all parts of our business
  • Opportunities to build meaningful relationships with clients and team members

About the opportunity

We’ve got both part time and full time roles available, so you can find the arrangement that works for you.
