Ghella | Site Engineer

An incredible opportunity for a Site Engineer to join our newest tunnelling project, the Herne Bay Collector, located at Point Erin in Auckland’s’ CBD. 

About the Project

The Herne Bay Collector is located adjacent to the Waitematā Harbour, the new infrastructure will significantly reduce wastewater and stormwater overflows into the environment. The project consists of a 1.7km-long, 2.1m-diameter wastewater tunnel, seven main shafts, three intermediate shafts, overflow connections to existing engineered overflow points, and a control chamber at Pt Erin Park in Auckland. This chamber will connect the Herne Bay Collector into the Central Interceptor system, forming part of Auckland’s wider wastewater network.

About the role

  • Working alongside our Project Engineers and Supervisors across a range of site activities, documentation, resource management as well as tracking and identification of claims
  • Participate at toolbox and site meetings
  • Documentation and filing of all project information
  • Monitor, track and assess subcontractor, supplier and plant dockets
  • Compilation of incoming material certification records, ITPs and Checklists
  • Assist with the monitoring of works to ensure that they are carried out in line with all relevant designs, specifications, methodologies
  • Assist in the preparation of safety, quality and environmental plans, including safe work method statements and construction method statements, ITPs, and purchasing plans
  • Develop and maintain site registers

About you

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Site Engineer in civil infrastructure
  • Degree qualification in engineering, construction management or equivalent
  • Construction Site administration experience, including the compiling of ITP’s
  • Focus on Health and Safety, think safe and work safe
  • Proficient in MS Project and Excel and strong administration capabilities
  • Positive and pro-active approach toward teamwork
  • Sound planning and organisational skills
  • Innovative thinker and committed to continuous improvement
  • Good communicator, clear, concise and easily understood both in written and verbal form
