About Ghella
Founded in 1894, Ghella is a major Italian global force recognised for its excellence in the construction of large-scale public infrastructure and expertise in tunneling.
Specialising in underground excavation, with five generations of long-standing tunnelling experience, we have completed over 190 tunnels, connecting more than 1,000 km of metros, railways, motorways, and hydraulic works.
We take pride in our diverse community of over 6,000 people, residing in fifteen countries, and working across four continents, primarily in Oceania, Europe, North and South America, and Southeast Asia.

Graduate Programme
Leaving a better world to future generations, inspires us to develop future leaders.
Ghella’s Graduate Programme is is an 18-month professional development framework, aligned with the Engineering New Zealand’s Emerging Professional Development Programme. It caters for Graduates from all disciplines, providing a set of foundational skills as they begin to develop professionally and personally. The module based curriculum includes Safety, Ethics, Operational, Technical and Professional Acumen.
Annually we hire Summer Interns into our 12 week Internship Programme, many of whom go on to join the Ghella family as Graduates.
