About the Role
As a Graduate Accountant, you will work closely with our
senior accountants and advisors to provide high-quality services to our
clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Processing and reviewing accounting records
- Preparing GST returns and other compliance requirements
- Reconciling bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts
- Assisting with tax compliance and advisory work
- Supporting the preparation of year-end accounts
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and legislation
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients and colleagues
- A willingness to learn and develop professionally
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Sound computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- An interest in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), and a willingness to embrace new tools that improve efficiency, accuracy, and client service
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Experience using Xero accounting software
- Familiarity with New Zealand tax legislation and financial reporting requirements
- Commencement of, or intention to commence, a professional qualification such as CA ANZ
