Description

About this role:

  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes for the manufacturing finance function.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, reconciliations, and governance processes.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Maintain and improve product costing models, including material, labour, and manufacturing overhead allocation.
  • Analyse production costs, cost variances, gross margin performance, and operating trends.
  • Provide profitability analysis by product, customer, job, and business segment.
  • Support pricing, tendering, and commercial decisions through accurate costing information.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and provide insights to improve operational performance.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process.
  • Report actual results against budgets and provide commentary on key variances.
  • Support stock counts, stocktakes, and inventory accuracy initiatives in partnership with operational teams.
  • Monitor stock levels, slow-moving items, stock write-offs, and wastage.
  • Support inventory valuation and ensure stock reporting is accurate and reliable.
  • Assist operational managers with costing, efficiency, and working capital initiatives.
  • Contribute to process improvements, ERP enhancements, and reporting automation initiatives.
  • Assist with improvements to finance processes, controls, reporting templates, and management information.
  • Promote a continuous improvement mindset across finance and operational reporting activities.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting, finance management, or management accounting role.
  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing, production, inventory-based, or industrial business environments.
  • Strong understanding of Bills of Materials (BOM), inventory valuation, gross margin analysis, and financial controls.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and practical ERP system experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-support skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to improve systems and processes.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and control discipline.
  • Hands-on and practical finance management capability.
  • CPA or CA qualification, or progress towards completion, will be highly regarded.
