Accounts Receivable & Administration Officer

Watson Blinds & Awnings — Hume, ACT

Watson Blinds & Awnings has been manufacturing and installing custom window furnishings for over 50 years, with stores across Canberra, the South Coast and the Riverina. We’re looking for an organised, detail-focused person to join our accounts team.

The role

Reporting to Accounts Manager, you’ll take ownership of the accounts receivable function and provide administrative support across the business:

• Raising and issuing customer invoices, progress claims and statements
• Allocating receipts and reconciling customer accounts
• Managing debtor follow-up — phone and email collections, payment plans, escalations
• Maintaining accurate customer records across multiple store entities
• Processing customer deposits and end-of-day banking
• Assisting with month-end reporting and reconciliations
• General office administration
• Supporting the broader accounts team during busy periods

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in accounts receivable, credit control or a similar accounts role is desirable
• Confident, professional communicator — comfortable making collection calls
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
• Good Excel skills and experience with accounting software (Xero or similar an advantage)
• Ability to juggle competing deadlines and work across multiple entities
• Reliable, self-motivated and happy to pitch in where needed
