The Role
We are seeking a hands-on Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our Bowen and Proserpine sites. You will coordinate people, plant and site activities, support safe and efficient waste handling, and ensure operational, safety and environmental standards are met. This role is ideal for a confident supervisor who is comfortable working around yellow machinery and enjoys keeping a busy site running smoothly.
What you’ll be doing
- Oversee day-to-day site operations, workflows, plant movements and team activities.
- Coordinate waste intake, segregation, stockpile management and outbound material movement.
- Supervise and work safely around yellow machinery including loaders, excavators, dozers and other mobile plant.
- Lead site safety, toolbox talks, inspections, traffic management and incident response processes.
- Manage team scheduling, performance, training needs and daily communication with operators, contractors and customers.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting while identifying opportunities to improve safety, efficiency and site performance.
About You
You are a practical, safety-minded leader who enjoys working in fast-paced operational environments and leading teams from the front. You are confident coordinating people, plant and site activities, and can balance safety, productivity and compliance while maintaining strong communication with your team, contractors and customers.
You’ll bring
- Previous supervisory or operations leadership experience in waste, civil, engineering, environmental, mining, logistics or a similar heavy industry environment.
- Strong experience working with or around yellow machinery and mobile plant.
- A confident, hands-on leadership style with the ability to coach, support and direct operational teams.
- A strong safety focus and commitment to maintaining compliant, efficient site operations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with team members, contractors and customers.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy operational environment.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Suite, and the ability to complete site documentation and reporting.
- A current driver’s licence and reliable transport.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and regular random drug and alcohol testing.
