Job Summary:

The Gateway Cafe Guide is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and sales support to customers and team members at the cafe. This entry-level position requires a friendly and outgoing individual who can assist customers with their inquiries, take orders, handle transactions, maintain cleanliness of the cafe area, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

1. Greet customers warmly upon arrival at the cafe.

2. Provide menu recommendations and answer any questions or concerns.

3. Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.

4. Prepare beverages such as coffee, tea, smoothies, etc., according to established recipes.

5. Serve food items promptly while ensuring quality standards are met.

6. Handle cash transactions using the POS system and give accurate change when required.

7. Maintain cleanliness of the dining area by clearing tables, wiping surfaces, sweeping floors, etc.

8. Restock supplies (e.g., napkins, cups) as needed throughout shifts.

9. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

10. Assist team members in maintaining an organized workspace.

and other directions as required by the Manager.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification preferred but not mandatory.

2. Previous experience in hospitality or customer service roles is advantageous but not required; training will be provided for entry-level candidates.

3. Knowledge of food hygiene practices is desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is crucial.
