POSITION OVERVIEW

  • The position provides a broad range of support services to the Commercial and
  • Property Partners and Solicitors including engagement processes; performing
  • various searches; drafting correspondence and sale and purchase documentation;
  • and assisting with development conveyancing and standard conveyancing work.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee progress of both commercial and residential conveyancing matters to tight frames, reporting to the supervising solicitor as necessary.
  • Assist supervising solicitors in preparing, issuing and exchanging off-the-plan contracts for sale and settling properties for a range of developments.
  • Liaise with clients and agents over the phone and in person for all aspects of conveyancing transactions.
  • Coordinate and arrange the investment of deposits on exchanged contracts and managing their withdrawal and reconciliation.
  • Liaise with banks by phone and by email in relation to discharging security and all aspects of invested deposits.
  • Maintaining client portal system, development spreadsheets and various other reporting regimes.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assist Property and commercial group solicitors in preparing sale and purchase documentation other than unit developments.
  • Conclude matters, scan and copy and distribute original documents and close files and undertake other filing and administrative work as necessary.
  • Continuously improve the firm’s systems and processes with respect to all aspects of development conveyancing.
  • Work extra hours as required to complete the work.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous conveyancing experience is favourable (preferably at least five years)
  • Experience in managing large numbers of transactions desirable.
