Telecommunications Technician

About the role

Given the ongoing expansion that we are experiencing Titan ICT is looking to employ an accomplished and experienced Telecommunications Technician with significant experience in the installation, testing and commissioning of microwave technologies into the oil and gas industry.

Multiple positions are available for this long-term delivery project.

Key Responsibilities will include:

To be successful in this position, we are seeking candidates who can bring the following skills and experience to the role:

• Trade qualifications as a Communications Technician, Telecommunications Engineer, or equivalent
• Knowledge and experience with RF Technologies including digital radio systems, analogue radio systems, and microwave communication systems.
• Minimum 5 years installation and testing of RF communication systems in remote environments.
• Ability to assist in the planning, implementation and installation of telecommunications systems.
• Ability to read wiring plans and electrical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Highly motivated and able to work well independently or as part of a team.
• Registered ACMA Cabling license with structured and coax endorsements (desirable)

Skills and experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the delivery of mission critical communication and operational technologies specifically in the mining/oil and gas industry.
• Extensive knowledge of Transmission/ microwave/ voice mobile radio in the mining/oil and gas sector.
• Experience utilising Root Cause Analysis techniques to troubleshoot and problem solve network issues.
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate at all levels of business.
• Experience delivering mission critical communications systems in a remote environment.

Qualifications and certifications

• Electronics or telecommunications qualification.
• Valid Australian drivers licence
• Right to work in Australia.
