Complex Care Disability Support Worker

We are currently seeking female staff members to provide complex care support for a specific participant. This role involves delivering specialized support for high medical and physical needs, ensuring dignity and independence are maintained through expert clinical guidance.
Our team is always growing. If you have experience in Palliative Care or Challenging Behaviors, we want to hear from you too.
Hours: shifts are generally 2 to 4 hours with some being 6 hours. Shift times are dependent on what is in the NDIS finding. We always try to provide more than one shift per day as close as possible.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, some weekends will also be required.
Location: Werrington area. Therapy Care has services from Penrith to Bankstown and in the Hills region.
Pay Rate: $43.23-$44.59 depending on experience and qualifications
Start: As soon as possible
Experience in complex care disability work like the following:
- Enteral feeding (PEG, Mickey button, tube feeding).
- Epilepsy management.
- Medication like injections, webster packs etc.
- Catheter care.
- Wound management and dressing.
- Meal preparation to specific dietary requirements like puree food.
- Diabetes care and monitoring levels for safety.
- Experience supporting non-verbal participants, including behaviors and use of AT communication devices (not essential but highly desirable).
- Personal care assistance like showering, toileting, transfers from bed to wheelchair.
- Manual handling to assist with physical tasks like bed changing, hoists and slings.
Requirements:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Emotional Resilience & Regulation to help de-escalate situations and provide a sense of safety for the participants.
- Ability to observe and report on potential safety issues.
- High-Level Adaptive Communication skills to develop connections, show care and support. Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
- Professional empathy, compassion, and a collaborative approach. Foster a positive and supportive environment.
Mandatory Checks:
- Cert III (Individual Support/Disability) or above.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid/CPR.
- Driver’s License & Insured Vehicle that can be used for work.
- NDIS Orientation Module’s x4.
