Alongside our trusted retail stores, we’re proud to offer our growing Balmain Coffee Company and our popular Supply – Your Local Food Store range of fresh, made-in-store products.

As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our leadership team and support our Upper Blue Mountains locations.

If you’re passionate about people, love a fast-paced environment, and are looking for genuine career progression opportunities, we’d love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

This is more than just an Assistant Manager role—it’s a development pathway into future Store Management opportunities.

You’ll work across our Upper Blue Mountains network including:

  • BP Wentworth Falls
  • BP Katoomba
  • BP Blackheath

As a key member of our leadership team, you’ll support Store Managers, lead teams during key trading periods, cover management leave, and help drive a positive culture focused on exceptional customer experiences.

No two days are the same. One day you may be coaching team members, the next managing stock, supporting operational excellence, analysing store performance, or leading a busy weekend trade.

You’ll gain exposure to multiple stores, diverse teams, and different business challenges, providing invaluable experience for your leadership journey.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Leading People

  • Inspire, coach and develop team members to be their best.
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and people-first culture.
  • Assist with training, onboarding and performance development.
  • Lead confidently in the absence of Store Managers.

Creating Outstanding Customer Experiences

  • Deliver exceptional service and create memorable customer interactions.
  • Support teams to consistently exceed customer expectations.
  • Lead by example on the shop floor.

Driving Store Success

  • Assist with rostering, inventory management, administration and reporting.
  • Support operational standards across multiple sites.
  • Contribute ideas and solutions to improve business performance.
  • Help drive sales, profitability and store presentation standards.

Supporting a 24/7 Business

  • Work collaboratively across a rotating roster.
  • Support stores during key trading periods, weekends and public holidays.
  • Step into different environments and quickly build strong relationships with teams.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, initiative, and a genuine passion for leading people.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Minimum 3 years’ management experience within retail, hospitality, convenience or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • A customer-first mindset and commitment to exceptional service.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence managing competing priorities and delegating effectively.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to embrace challenges.
  • Experience using web-based systems including rostering, reporting, inventory and training platforms.
  • A genuine desire to learn, grow and progress your career.
