About the Role
We’re looking for a Payroll Officer to join our growing team. Based out of our Melbourne office with hybrid flexibility, you’ll play an important role in supporting the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a diverse portfolio of NFP clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a structured, supportive environment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients across varying pay frequencies
- Supporting compliance with applicable Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and relevant legislation
- Processing payroll variations including terminations, leave, allowances, and superannuation
- Reconciling payroll reports and assisting with month-end and year-end processes
- Responding to payroll queries from clients and their employees with professionalism
- Identifying and escalating payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
About You
You’re an organised and detail-focused individual who takes pride in accuracy and is eager to grow your payroll career. You’re comfortable managing deadlines, communicating professionally, and learning the nuances of payroll in a client-facing environment.
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- A completed Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, or equivalent experience in an admin or payroll support role
- A working understanding of payroll processes and a willingness to learn payroll legislation and award interpretation
- Experience with payroll or accounting software (KeyPay, Xero Payroll, or similar highly regarded)
- High attention to detail and a methodical, organised approach to your work
- Strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused manner
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to take initiative when needed
