Thrive Disability Services & Carer Support is looking for a passionate Disability Support Worker:

Summary:

We are now looking for committed, reliable and patient disability support workers for a complex needs NDIS participant. The role is 24/7, and flexible availability is compulsory. As the participant gets to know the staff, full time hours are available, including sleep overs.

The role:

Must have experience with high/complex behavior’s, preferably with non-verbal participants

Must be able to work, weekdays/ weeknights/ sleepovers and weekends.

Attend regular fortnightly team meetings

Support with personal hygiene

Following and implementing Behavior Management Plan strictly and consistency to due complex needs

Build the participants capacity to access the community by building a trusted relationship

The participant has been through many staff turnover, and has a fear of abandonment and trauma, we only need staff that are trauma informed and reliable

Staff must be able to think on their feet and demonstrate a commonsense approach

Staff must be well versed with life and household running skills to keep the participants accommodation clean and tidy at all times

Staff will be required to understand the importance of family input into the care plan

Qualification’s and Certification’s

 1)Passport or Birth Certificate

 2)Driver’s license

 3)Certificate III in individual support or related field

 4)Car Insurance + Rego

 5)Police Check (Not older than 6 Months) or Reference Number of Police Check Application

6)Working With Vulnerable People Card or Registration (Blue & Yellow cards)

7)Proof of Covid Vaccination

8)NDIS Screening Check for Working with vulnerable people*

9)NDIS Worker Orientation Module “Quality, Safety and You”

10)NDIS New Worker Orientation Module

11)NDIS Supporting Effective Communication

12)NDIS Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals

13)First Aid + CPR
