Job Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing initial functional assessments and ongoing treatment to elderly clients and NDIS participants with disabilities. You will travel to clients’ homes for OT assessments and ongoing interventions, including home modification visits and equipment trials. In addition, you will be responsible for completing accurate documentation and application reports, as well as liaising with service providers and other team members.

Skills:

– AHPRA Registration

– NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC) or willing to apply for one

– Professional indemnity and liability insurance

– Current Drivers License

– Demonstrated understanding of the complex needs of elderly clients, adults with physical disabilities or neurological conditions.

– Previous home-based care experience – Desirable

– NDIS knowledge – Desirable.

Responsibilities:

– Conduct initial occupational therapy assessments on elderly clients and NDIS participants with disabilities.

– Provide ongoing occupational therapy treatment to help improve client’s quality of life.

– Travel to client’s homes in the Hills district or Western Suburbs areas.

– Conduct home modification visits and equipment trials when necessary.

– Complete accurate documentation related to client assessment results.

-Liaise effectively with service providers as well as other members of your team.

Qualifications:

New grads are welcome; however previous experience in home-based care is desirable. The ideal candidate must possess a relevant degree qualification in occupational therapy from a recognized institution. Candidates must also hold current registration under AHPRA regulations.

Note that willingness to cover Hills district or Western Suburbs areas is required. Candidates who have not undergone an NDIS Worker Check should be willing to apply for one. Professional indemnity and liability insurance are mandatory.
