We are seeking an empathetic, resilient, and dynamic individual to join our team, as a Full-Time, Recruitment Officer. The position will be Full-Time. You will work in our office is located in Islington, New South Wales.

As a Recruitment Officer at Sunflower Services, your responsibilities include:

  • Lead group recruitment interviews for Mental Health and Disability Support Worker positions, creating a warm, engaging and consistent experience while assessing candidates against Sunflower’s values and role requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, from sourcing and screening candidates through to offer and onboarding.
  • Source and identify quality candidates through SEEK and other recruitment channels, ensuring recruitment activity responds to workforce requirements.
  • Screen and shortlist applications, assessing candidate experience, qualifications and suitability.
  • Coordinate interview schedules and candidate communication, ensuring applicants are kept informed throughout the recruitment process.
  • Conduct individual candidate discussions and follow-up questions as part of the selection process, providing clear and constructive feedback.
  • Complete recruitment compliance, including background checks, reference checks, qualification verification and NDIS requirements.
  • Coordinate onboarding, including contracts, training schedules, documentation, employee ID cards and Support Worker profiles.
  • Support and coordinate in-person induction sessions, ensuring new Support Workers are prepared and supported as they commence.
  • Collaborate closely with the Rostering Team to ensure recruitment priorities and workforce requirements align with current rostering needs, supporting timely recruitment to meet operational demand.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across recruitment, interviewing and onboarding processes, including developing and refining interview approaches.
  • Support workforce engagement and retention, including maintaining accurate recruitment records, conducting inactive employee audits and providing broader HR support.
  • Participate in recruitment projects and initiatives across NDIS and Aged Care, such as our Two-Week Readiness Program and other workforce initiatives.
  • Contribute insights into recruitment strategy, workforce trends and data analytics to support informed decision-making.
  • Work under the clear direction and guidance of the Senior Recruitment Officer.
  • Provide coverage and support for the Senior Recruitment Officer during periods of leave or holidays.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Education in Business Administration, Human Resources, Community Services, mental health, or a related field desirable.
  • Experience in recruitment, administration or support work within the NDIS or community services sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, maintain boundaries, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional phone manner.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental attitude, especially when working with vulnerable populations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and independently when required.
  • Attention to detail in documentation, record-keeping, and administrative tasks.
  • Ethical and culturally sensitive approach to client and staff interactions.
