Description

Remedial /Methods Engineer

As a specialist strengthening and remediation contractor, we are seeking a motivated and capable Remedial / Methods Engineer to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging structural strengthening and remediation projects using both traditional engineering methods and advanced composite materials such as Fibre Reinforced Polymer (Carbon Fibre) systems.

You will work closely with experienced engineers and project teams across all stages of investigation, design, detailing, and construction support. We will provide ongoing support, training, and mentoring to help you further develop your technical and professional skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • ·Gather and review project information from tender documents, investigation reports, client documentation, and principal consultant information.
  • ·Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to obtain and clarify required project data.
  • ·Specify investigation requirements and support NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) teams during site investigations.
  • ·Prepare construction methodologies, update, and customise them for each project if required.
  • ·Cross check design engineer markups and methodologies versus drawings output from drafting team.
  • ·Site inspection before design and after design to check the feasibility of the strengthening design system.
  • ·Site inspection during construction works to assure the correct methodologies are utilised and elements are being installed as per the drawings.
  • ·Carry out site investigations, remedial engineering assessments, and diagnostic engineering inspections.
  • ·Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings effectively to ensure all stakeholders are informed of critical issues, risks, and recommended actions.
  • ·Participate in technical discussions and contribute to continuous improvement within the engineering team.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of experience in engineering in construction.
  • Strong understanding of structural behaviour and the principles behind structural design processes, particularly for concrete structures.
  • Familiarity with Australian Standards and codes.
  • Experience using: AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop a deeper understanding of structural behaviour and strengthening methodologies.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience designing steel-to-concrete connections and post-installed anchoring systems.
  • Familiarity with: RAPT, RAM Concept, Inducta SLB
  • Experience in structural remediation and strengthening projects.
  • Experience in remedial engineering and diagnostic inspections reporting.
