FPGA Engineer

Skykraft is an Australian company delivering Air Traffic Management services from space using advanced small‑satellite technology. We design, build, and operate our systems locally and support aviation safety worldwide.

We’re looking for an FPGA Engineer to join our Canberra-based engineering team and contribute to mission‑critical spacecraft electronics.

The Role

• Design, implement, and verify FPGA solutions for space systems
• Develop HDL (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog), perform synthesis and timing closure
• Create testbenches, run simulations, and support hardware testing
• Integrate FPGA designs with hardware and software systems
• Document designs and optimise for performance, power, and cost
• ·Apply FPGA solutions across signal processing, communications, control systems and video processing.

About You

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
• Strong FPGA and digital design experience
• Proficient with HDL and FPGA toolchains (Xilinx Vivado strongly preferred)
• Experience in verification, debugging, and system integration
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
