We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our close knit team in Williamstown. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process from start to finish, ensuring that all purchases are made in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Procurement Officer will work closely with various departments to identify their procurement needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.
While this role is initially based on the office during the probation period, we are pleased to offer a hybrid working model after this period.

Role Overview
As a Procurement Officer at Silverback, you will play a pivotal role in driving best practice planning and procurement processes across our network. You will be responsible for working closely with our Senior Leadership team to manage the overseas ordering process, managing and negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring an efficient procurement operations.
Key Criteria
- A relevant tertiary qualification in supply chain or commerce is preferred.
- Strong inventory and supply chain skills.
- Experience in a similar Procurement role, ideally partnering with off-shore suppliers in the supply chain/transport sector.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and maintain commercial relationships.
- Ability to negotiate commercially favorable supply conditions.
- Advanced systems experience – SAP Business One and Microsoft Excel skills are desirable.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
- Ability to speak Mandarin is desirable.
- Must hold a current Australian driver’s license.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
