We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in Brisbane, Queensland. This permanent, full-time role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of payroll regulations and practices within the financial services industry, contributing to the overall efficiency and compliance of our payroll operations.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and managing five (5) fortnightly payrolls, covering approximately 450 employees
  • Processing EFT payments for Wages, Group Tax and Payroll Tax
  • Completing end of month tasks e.g. General Ledger Balance, superannuation integration and journals
  • Preparing and delivering reports for Management
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of EBAs, awards and payroll legislation
  • You will also assist with general HR team administration and ad hoc tasks as required.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role in a medium size organisation
  • Proven capability in end of month procedures and knowledge of General Ledger reconciliation
  • Previous experience working with Employment Hero preferred
  • Working knowledge of Great Plains accounting software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Sound knowledge of relevant awards and legislation including taxation and superannuation.
