Description

Who We Are

RRK Group is a nationally recognised, award-winning Indigenous organisation – and we’re just getting started.

Headquartered in Karratha in the Pilbara, Western Australia, the RRK Group represents the Robe River Kuruma People – Traditional Owners of approximately 15,759 square kilometres of Country, from the coastal waters of Mardie inland to the Hamersley Range.

We operate across three entities:

  • RRKAC – the Registered Native Title Body Corporate, progressive advocate for more than 460 RRK members.
  • KML – Kuruma Marthudunera Limited, trustee managing compensation and royalty funds for the benefit of our Community.
  • RRS – Robe River Services, our commercial arm delivering Traditional Owner contracting and joint ventures.

Together, we pursue a single mission: building the independence, wellbeing, and cultural strength of RRK People – on our own terms.

Why This Role Exists

The RRK Group has a strong foundation of community programs, heritage operations, ranger work and commercial activity — but its workforce infrastructure has not kept pace with its growth. Employment systems are being integrated, capability frameworks are being rolled out, and the Group’s approach to recruiting and developing its own people is being redesigned from the ground up.

The Manager, People & Capability leads this transformation. The role sits at the centre of the Group’s most important strategic commitment: building a workforce where RRK Members hold meaningful roles at every level of the organisation, are supported to grow, and work in an environment that is genuinely culturally safe. This is not a generalist HR administration role. It is a workforce development and transformation role with a clear mandate and a well-scoped work program to deliver.

What You Will Do

  • Build the Workforce Data Foundation
  • Build a Workplace That Works for RRK People
  • Design and Activate Employment Pathways
  • Build Workforce Capability
  • Manage Day-to-Day HR and Recruitment

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in HR management, workforce development or organisational development-managing the full HR lifecycle in a complex, multi-program organisation
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and governing HRIS systems (Employment Hero preferred) and building workforce reporting from raw data into meaningful dashboards
  • Experience designing and delivering capability frameworks, performance management systems and accredited training architectures
  • Demonstrated cultural competency working with Aboriginal communities or organisations — practical understanding of what makes a workplace genuinely culturally safe, not theoretical
  • Strong analytical and written communication capability – you will write workforce reports, GPPC papers, policy documents and training plans to a Board-ready standard
