Description

We’re a Brisbane-based, small-batch brewery and hospitality group built on a simple idea: forever exploring, forever evolving. Since 2018 we’ve grown from a Newstead brewery into a collection of venues that locals genuinely love. Each one with its own personality, all of them sharing the same DNA. Great beer brewed fresh every week. Bold, approachable food. Spaces that feel considered, welcoming, and genuinely hard to replicate. Today the Range group includes our Newstead brewery and taproom, the sun-soaked courtyard of Patio by Range in Paddington, the cosy neighbourhood comfort of Rays by Range in Camp Hill, The Bethnal, our contemporary wedding and events space, and Neighbour at Gasworks Plaza, our newest local in Newstead.

Range Brewing is a small batch brewery with a focus on design, relaxed vibes, fresh beer and the perfect pizza to accompany it. We are extremely passionate about educating our customers about modern beer while exceeding expectations.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Bartender to join the front-of-house team at Range Brewing. This is a bar-focused role — you will own the bar during service, deliver an exceptional guest experience, and be an ambassador for the Range Brewing beer range.

You will report to the Venue Manager. Weekend availability is a must.

If you are a confident, knowledgeable bartender who takes pride in their craft, loves great beer, and thrives in a fast-paced neighbourhood venue — this role was built for you.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  1. Operate the bar efficiently and confidently throughout service, maintaining speed, quality, and presentation
  2. Serve craft beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages to a consistently high standard
  3. Maintain exceptional product knowledge across the full beverage offering and communicate it confidently to guests
  4. Create an inviting atmosphere at the bar that reflects the Range identity and values
  5. Provide personalised service to all guests — from regulars to first-timers
  6. Manage responsible service of alcohol at all times and hold a current RSA certificate
  7. Assist with bar set-up, stock management, and end-of-shift clean-down procedures
  8. Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the bar area to a high standard throughout service
  9. Monitor and restock bar inventory, flagging low stock to the Venue Manager
  10. Assist with opening and closing procedures as required
  11. Handle cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately using the POS system
  12. Work collaboratively with floor staff and the kitchen team to ensure a seamless guest experience
  13. Support the Duty Manager with any operational tasks as required
  14. Other duties as assigned

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a bartending or senior bar role in a quality hospitality venue
  • Genuine knowledge of and enthusiasm for craft beer — and a desire to keep learning
  • Solid understanding of wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverage service
  • A vibrant, warm personality with the ability to connect with a diverse range of guests
  • High standards of presentation, professionalism, and personal hygiene
  • Current RSA certificate (Queensland)
  • Experience with POS systems and cash handling
  • Physically capable of working on your feet for extended periods and moving kegs, boxes, and furniture
  • A strong work ethic, common sense, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, organised, and available across a rotating roster including weekends — Friday and Saturday availability is essential

Why Range?

  • A well-established venue with a strong identity, great beer, and a community that’s genuinely passionate about it
  • A supportive Venue Manager invested in your development
  • The opportunity to deepen your beer and beverage knowledge working directly with a craft brewery
  • Staff benefits including product discounts and access to Range Brewing events
  • Real opportunities to grow within a hospitality group that is expanding
  • A positive, professional team culture
  • Start date ASAP
