Description

Queensland Rugby League is looking for an experienced Female Pathways Coach to help develop the next generation of Queensland players and coaches. Working across our representative and talent development programs, you’ll play an important role in creating strong development environments and ensuring players and coaches across Queensland have the support, resources and opportunities they need to progress through the pathway.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As the Pathways Coach, you’ll work across QRL’s female representative programs, player and coach development initiatives and wider coaching network. You’ll work closely with clubs, coaches and performance staff across Queensland to create greater consistency across our pathways and help develop the players and coaches of the future.

We’ve broken it down a little more for you:

  • Oversee the delivery of U17 and U19 programs and camps, including travel across Queensland as required.
  • Work with the Female Athlete Development & Pathways Manager to identify and appoint players, coaches and selection panels for representative teams.
  • Lead and support talent development and specialisation programs including Future Maroons Academy, City/Country and RISE initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver programs and resources that build coach capability across statewide competitions.
  • Bring specialist coaches and leading coach developers into programs to strengthen player and coach development.
  • Work closely with statewide club Pathways Coaches to support the delivery of state and national programs.
  • Build strong relationships with coaches across Queensland, as well as NRL and NRLW clubs, to support player development and pathway strategies.
  • Support workshops, conferences and other development opportunities that strengthen Queensland’s coaching network.
  • Contribute to the development of QRL’s annual pathway strategy, programs and budgets.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

You’ll be an experienced coach who understands high-performance and talent development environments and knows how to build strong relationships across clubs, coaches and performance teams. You’ll be comfortable juggling multiple programs and priorities and, importantly, genuinely passionate about developing players and coaches across Queensland.

You’ll also possess:

  • Youth Development Coach Certification.
  • Demonstrated coaching experience at NRL or Statewide Competition level.
  • Strong program planning and project delivery skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Experience using an athlete management system (Teamworks AMS) to support program delivery.
  • The ability to work effectively within elite sporting environments and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to perform well when things get busy.
  • A good understanding of the Australian professional sporting environment would be highly regarded.
