Description

Summary:

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for administering radiation therapy to cancer patients under the supervision of a radiation oncologist and other healthcare professionals. They create treatment plans, monitor patients during treatment, and manage side effects.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct radiation therapy sessions according to physician’s orders
  • Administer appropriate dosages of radiation
  • Monitor patients during treatment and manage side effects
  • Maintain accurate records of treatment sessions
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans
  • Educate patients and their family members about treatment procedures and side effects
  • Ensure radiation safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Maintain equipment and keep treatment rooms clean and organised
  • Participate in quality assurance programs to ensure high-quality patient care

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in radiation therapy or a related field
  • Current license in Radiation Therapy
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in radiation therapy
  • Knowledge of radiation safety procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required
