Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Health Information Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the management of patient health information and medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and optimizing the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems. The Health Information Manager will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the accuracy, accessibility, and security of patient data.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the management and maintenance of patient health information and medical records.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding health information management and privacy (e.g., HIPAA).

Develop and implement policies and procedures for the effective handling, storage, and retrieval of health information.

Manage the transition from paper-based records to electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of patient data within the EHR system.

Provide training and support to healthcare staff on the proper use of health information systems and EHRs.

Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with health information management standards and regulations.

Serve as a liaison between the health information department and other departments to address data management needs and issues.

Monitor advancements in health information technology and recommend upgrades or changes to existing systems.

Prepare reports and analyses based on health data to support clinical and administrative decision-making.

Ensure the confidentiality and security of patient information through the implementation of appropriate safeguards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or a related field.

Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or equivalent.

Proven experience in health information management, including experience with EHR systems.

Strong knowledge of health information management principles, standards, and regulations.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and health information management software.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
