QWP fruit & Vege – Assistant

Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic QWP Fruit & Vegetable Assistant to join our team in South Townsville. This temporary, casual role is essential for ensuring the quality and presentation of our fresh produce, contributing to an exceptional customer experience in the hospitality and catering industry. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the selection and preparation of fresh fruit and vegetables for display and sale
• Ensure all produce is stored correctly and maintained at optimal freshness
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including equipment and storage spaces
• Support the team in stock management, including receiving and checking deliveries
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their queries and needs
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times

Qualifications:

• No formal education required; however, a passion for food and customer service is essential
• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not necessary for entry-level candidates
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
