Summary:

As a Support Worker in the Community Services & Development sector, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need. Your primary focus will be to provide compassionate support and assistance to clients, helping them achieve their personal goals and fostering independence. This position is essential for promoting community well-being and ensuring that all individuals receive the care and attention they deserve.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to clients in accordance with their individual care plans.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication management, and personal hygiene.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other professionals.
  • Monitor and report on clients’ progress and any changes in their condition to the appropriate team members.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field.
  • Support clients in engaging with community resources and activities to promote social inclusion.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and care provided.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification in Community Services, Health, or Social Care (e.g., Certificate III in Individual Support).
  • Previous experience in a support worker or similar role is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and their families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification is advantageous.
  • A valid driver’s licence may be required depending on the role.
