Job Title: Workshop/Field Mechanical Fitter/Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced trade qualified Mechanical Fitter/Mechanic to join our team in Mackay, Queensland. As a Workshop/Field Mechanical Fitter/Mechanic, you will be responsible for conducting maintenance, repairs, and installations of multi stage pumps, valves and auxiliary equipment in our local workshop or infield. This is a full-time position.

Skills Required:

– Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Mechanic

– Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment

– Proficient in using hand tools and power tools

– Ability to read technical drawings and schematics

– Excellent problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct routine maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, etc.

2. Perform repairs on faulty machinery or parts by diagnosing issues accurately.

3. Install new pumps or components according to technical specifications.

4. Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential problems or malfunctions.

5. Collaborate with the workshop team to ensure timely completion of tasks.

6. Follow safety protocols while working with hazardous materials or operating machinery.

7. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities.

8. Provide assistance during planned maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

1. Must have completed a trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Mechanic from an accredited institution.

2. Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Mechanical Fitter/Mechanic preferred.

3. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team effectively.

4 Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations related to mechanical work.
