Description

Tired of counting boxes? So were we.

National Custom Compounding is one of Australia’s largest independent compounding pharmacies.

From our purpose-built facility in Merrimac, we manufacture and supply personalised medicines to patients, prescribers, clinics and a national network of more than 1,000 affiliate pharmacies — including sterile preparations made under strict aseptic conditions.

This is not retail. There is no front shop, no scripts-in-scripts-out treadmill, and no Sunday roster. It’s a genuine manufacturing and clinical environment where the work is technical, the standards are high, and the person checking the batch actually understands the formulation.

We’re looking for a registered pharmacist who wants to build real expertise in compounding — someone who enjoys problem-solving with prescribers, cares about doing things properly, and wants to grow with a business that’s scaling fast.

If you’ve never compounded before, that’s fine. We’ll train you. What we can’t train is attention to detail and giving a damn.

What you’ll actually do

  • Check and release compounded preparations — sterile and non-sterile — against formulation, QA and regulatory requirements
  • Work alongside our lab team on formulation queries, stability considerations and problem scripts
  • Speak directly with prescribers, naturopaths and clinics about complex cases — you’ll be the expert they call
  • Dispense and counsel with a level of clinical depth you rarely get time for in retail
  • Contribute to our Quality Management System: SOPs, documentation, deviations, continuous improvement
  • Support training and mentoring of technicians and new team members
  • Help us build the systems that let this business scale properly

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor or Master of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
  • Genuine attention to detail — in this environment it’s the whole job
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to hold a clinical conversation with a prescriber
  • A methodical, documentation-friendly mindset (if you like a good SOP, you’ll fit right in)
  • Compounding, aseptic or hospital manufacturing experience is a big plus, but not essential — we train the right person

Why NCC

  • Monday to Friday. No late nights, no weekends, no public holidays.
  • Real career progression. We’re growing quickly across sterile manufacturing, B2B2C and D2C — senior and leadership roles are opening up, and we promote from within.
  • Training that’s actually funded. Compounding and aseptic training, CPD support, and mentoring from an experienced compounding team.
  • Interesting work. Personalised formulations, complex clinical cases, and product development you won’t see anywhere else.
  • Modern, purpose-built facility at Merrimac — five minutes from the M1, free parking, and the Gold Coast out the back door.
  • Competitive salary, reviewed annually, plus a team incentive program.
