About NACCHO
The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peak body representing 148 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs). ACCHOs deliver comprehensive primary health care to more than half of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationally.
About the role
Working closely with the Immunisation Team, The Project Officer, Immunisations will support the ACCHO Sector’s access to grant funding and an immunisation training program to increase the workforce’s capacity and confidence to deliver immunisations to increase national immunisation rates and reduce vaccine preventable disease amongst Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
This position is ideal for someone who is collaborative, organised and passionate about community‑led health. It requires strong stakeholder engagement, cultural understanding and the ability to coordinate multiple program elements in a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven environment.
Responsibilities of this role but not limited to:
- Contribute to the management and delivery of sector grants, including assisting to develop grant guidelines and agreements; manage funding agreements and associated reporting on project outcomes.
- Assist in the delivery of immunisation training, mentoring and education tailored to the needs of the ACCHO Sector.
- Work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including ACCHOs, Affiliates, peak bodies and Governments to support established project objectives.
- Prepare project grant reports, discussion papers, and briefs.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in project management, policy and/or relevant work experience are highly desirable.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is highly desirable.
- Experience in a similar organisation or relevant government department will be well regarded
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This position directly contributes to improving immunisation access, confidence and coverage among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities – ultimately supporting better community health outcomes and reducing preventable illness. Your work will make a meaningful, measurable difference.
