Talent Manager

About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced Talent Manager to join the growing team at Mushroom Connect. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an established industry network and an existing roster of talent who is passionate about building long-term careers, creating meaningful commercial opportunities and driving growth.
Based in either Melbourne or Sydney, this full-time role will see you managing and growing your own roster while collaborating with the wider team to identify new opportunities across brand partnerships, entertainment, media and emerging platforms.
We’re looking for someone who is commercially minded, proactive and creative, with exceptional relationship-building skills and a proven ability to negotiate and secure opportunities that create long-term value for both talent and clients.
Salary is dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Management
- Manage the day-to-day servicing of your talent roster.
- Develop and execute long-term career strategies tailored to each talent.
- Build trusted relationships with talent, acting as their primary point of contact.
- Bring an existing roster and identify and onboard new talent who align with the Mushroom Connect vision and values.
- Oversee scheduling, contract management, deliverables and talent communications
- Source and develop new opportunities that support your talent’s long-term growth.
- Support talent in building sustainable personal brands and long-term careers.
- Build sustainable personal brands and career pathways that extend beyond individual campaigns.
Commercial Partnerships
- Identify, negotiate and secure commercial opportunities for your talent roster.
- Lead contract negotiations, fee discussions and campaign terms.
- Identify opportunities across television, streaming, podcasting, live events, publishing, product collaborations, ambassador programs and entrepreneurial ventures.
- Manage campaigns from initial briefing through to delivery, ensuring deadlines, deliverables and expectations are met.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver exceptional campaign outcomes.
- Build and maintain relationships with brands, agencies, media, PR and industry contacts to generate new business opportunities.
- Stay across industry trends and identify emerging commercial opportunities within the creator economy.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the wider team to deliver integrated campaigns.
- Mentor and support junior team members where required.
- Contribute ideas that improve internal processes and drive innovation across the Mushroom Connect.
- Contribute to agency growth through new talent acquisition and commercial opportunities.
- Foster relationships across the Mushroom Group, ensuring the team works collaboratively to identify, develop and maximise opportunities that elevate our talent and support their long-term growth.
About You:
You thrive on building careers, spotting opportunities before others do and creating partnerships that deliver real impact.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- 3–5 years’ experience in talent management, artist management or entertainment management.
- An existing roster of talent or strong talent relationships that can transition with you.
- Strong commercial acumen and exceptional negotiation skills.
- A proven track record of securing high-value commercial partnerships.
- Outstanding communication and relationship management skills.
- A well-established network across brands, agencies, media and the creator economy.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to identify new revenue opportunities.
- A genuine passion for entertainment, digital culture and emerging platforms.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
