We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer / HR Administrator to join our team at our Somersby site. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for someone who thrives on combining payroll precision with people-focused HR support in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you will take ownership of fortnightly payroll processing for a multi-state workforce, while supporting the full employee lifecycle. In this hands-on role, you will be a trusted first point of contact for payroll and HR queries, playing a meaningful part in delivering a positive employee experience.

Conveniently located off the M1 with onsite parking available, this role is well-suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and brings a minimum of 3–4 years’ payroll experience.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll

• Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll accurately and on time, including new starters, terminations, leave, superannuation, and payroll adjustments

• Maintain accurate employee and payroll records within Employment Hero

• Prepare payroll reconciliations, reporting, and supporting documentation

• Ensure compliance with awards, Fair Work legislation, and all payroll obligations

• Respond to payroll enquiries in a timely and professional manner

Human Resources

• Support onboarding, employment contracts, and employee lifecycle administration

• Assist with HR documentation and maintaining accurate employee records

• Coordinate HR administrative activities including inductions, probation tracking, training records, and policy acknowledgements

• Provide first-level support for HR-related queries

• Contribute to process improvements and HR initiatives

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in payroll and HR administration

• Sound knowledge of Australian payroll processes and employment legislation

• Experience using Employment Hero (highly regarded)

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• High levels of discretion when handling confidential information

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel

• A collaborative mindset and genuine enthusiasm for continuous improvement

Why Join Us?

This is a genuine opportunity to make your mark across both payroll and HR in a well-known Australian brand. You will join a supportive team, gain exposure across the full employee lifecycle, and contribute to meaningful improvements in systems and processes — including our ongoing transition to Employment Hero.

• Onsite parking and easy M1 access

• Inclusive, collaborative team culture

• Exposure to a well-recognised Australian brand (as seen on The Block)

• Opportunity to shape and improve payroll and HR processes as we invest in our systems
