About the Role
JMC’s Entertainment Business Management program provides students with the highly transferable cutting-edge business and management skills needed to make it in this highly competitive and rapidly expanding entertainment industry. Students gain real-world experience in stage and production management, music publishing, talent management and event management, and gain an innate understanding of the entertainment industry and how to manage it.
This role involves lecturing at our Sydney campus in Ultimo.
Applicants must have demonstrated industry and teaching experience, as well as appropriate qualifications to teach into a Bachelor level course (AQF+1)
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and assessment marking
- Delivering curriculum subjects and by drawing upon evidence-based teaching strategies
- Assisting and supporting students to achieve the course learning outcomes
- Assessing & recording student results accurately and in a timely manner
- Adherence to JMC Academy’s policies, procedures, codes of practice and ethics.
- Up-to-date insights into industry trends and a working knowledge of emerging industry practices
- Continued professional development and ongoing creative practice
Key Selection Criteria
- A relevant postgraduate qualification and/or professional certification in a relevant discipline, or evidence that the applicant is currently enrolled in a post graduate qualification
- Minimum of 3 years’ industry experience desirable
- Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience desirable
- Preferably a history of teaching in a tertiary environment with demonstrable evidence of high-quality outcomes
- A positive working attitude & a team player
- Empathy and a passion for teaching and the process of learning
- Curiosity and lifelong learning
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
