Internal Expression of Interest (EOI) – Financial Counsellor

Fixed Term (6-8 months) | Part-Time (3 days per week) | SCHADS Level 5

Are you passionate about supporting individuals and families experiencing financial hardship? We’re seeking a skilled and compassionate Financial Counsellor to deliver high-quality, person-centred financial counselling services and support clients to build financial resilience and independence.

About the role:

  • Provides professional financial counselling, budgeting support and advocacy to clients experiencing complex financial difficulties
  • Conducts comprehensive financial assessments and develops tailored client service plans
  • Supports clients to access relevant schemes including Work and Development Orders (WDO) and Energy Accounts Payment Assistance (EAPA)
  • Works collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to ensure holistic, coordinated support
  • Maintains accurate and confidential client records and contributes to quality, clinical governance and continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relevant Financial Counselling qualifications and accreditation
  • Membership with the NSW State Association of Financial Counsellors (FCAN)
  • Sound knowledge of consumer protection legislation and relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated empathy and compassion
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and manage competing demands
  • NDIS Worker Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Understanding of Jewish values, heritage and culture (desirable)
