About the opportunity
Due to team growth, we are seeking a lawyer with 8–15 years’ post-admission experience to join our Disputes practice group.
Our Disputes team provides risk and dispute resolution advice across a broad range of matters, including commercial contracts, governance, regulatory issues, trusts and the Corporations Act. Working closely with Partners Eva Lin, Marcus Pullen, Mark McLennan and Dave Stewart, the team supports clients across a diverse range of industries, including government, defence, not-for-profit, First Nations businesses, mining and professional services. We value collaboration and teamwork in delivering outstanding services to our clients.
In this role, you will work on diverse and complex client matters, with no two days the same. You will work closely with partners and peers in a collaborative environment that supports and empowers its people.
As a senior lawyer, you will also play an active role in mentoring junior lawyers, providing feedback and settling work to support the development of their legal skills. You will develop your management and leadership skills and build confidence in navigating the business of the profession of law. We appreciate that every career journey is different, and this role can support your current and future aspirations of consolidation or progression.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have a keen interest in dispute resolution and be able to demonstrate the following attributes, skills and abilities:
- 8 – 15 years post-admission experience;
- demonstrated experience in dispute resolution;
- sound judgement and commercial acumen;
- legal knowledge and technical ability commensurate to experience;
- a proactive, innovative and energetic approach;
- high level communication and interpersonal skills;
- excellent technical and drafting skills with demonstrated attention to detail;
- well organised with the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines;
- ability to empower and mentor juniors to increase their legal skills;
- willingness and ability to be flexible to accommodate business and client demands;
- ability to work autonomously and in a team environment;
- be solutions focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional standards; and
