About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Grounds Maintenance Officer to join the Ironbark Services NT team on a casual basis.

This is a practical, outdoor role working across a range of client sites to keep gardens, lawns and outdoor areas safe, tidy and well maintained. Day-to-day work will include mowing, whipper snipping, edging, weeding, trimming, general garden maintenance and operating grounds maintenance equipment.

The role may also assist with pressure cleaning, general cleaning and minor non-trade maintenance as required.

Previous grounds maintenance experience is valued, but just as important is being reliable, willing to learn, comfortable working outdoors and taking pride in doing a good job.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain gardens, lawns and outdoor areas, including mowing, edging, whipper snipping, weeding, watering, planting and trimming.
  • Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, brush cutters, blowers, hedge trimmers and pressure cleaners.
  • Keep pathways, outdoor areas and access points tidy, safe and free from debris.
  • Undertake general cleaning, pressure cleaning and minor non-trade maintenance when required.
  • Complete basic checks and look after tools, vehicles and equipment used in the role.
  • Follow safe work practices, site requirements and Ironbark procedures.
  • Complete allocated work to client and contractual standards and timing.
  • Work independently and as part of the team across different client locations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Reliable, practical and willing to have a go.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and undertaking physically active work.
  • Able to follow instructions and complete work to a good standard.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping, cleaning or similar hands-on work is desirable.
  • Experience using lawn mowers, whipper snippers, blowers or other grounds equipment is desirable.
  • Current unrestricted NT driver’s licence.
  • Australian working rights.
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and Ochre Card where required.
  • Willingness to undertake training and learn new skills.
