The Role
We’re on the lookout for a passionate Industrial Designer to join our team who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment—bringing smart, manufacturable product designs to life. As part of our design team, you’ll be working on a variety of new and existing product development projects. From initial concepts through to production, you’ll contribute across all product development stages. You’ll also:
- Collaborate with clients and suppliers to clarify design requirements
- Conceive product architectures and design concepts
- Execute detailed design work, creating part geometry and specifications
- Assemble and test prototypes, and investigate issues
- Assist with cost estimating, scheduling, and project coordination
- Support company-wide quality, engineering, and compliance standards
About You
You’ll be an experienced designer who is able to build personal connections with people and create highly desirable design solutions. You will be able to communicate your ideas through sketches/imagery/models and sell your design solutions to your colleagues and clients in an engaging way.
You’ll bring strong attention to detail and sound technical judgement and be highly capable at ushering parts together into manufactured shippable product. Problem definition and solution finding will be core to how you work.
Things that matter to us
- A degree in Industrial Design or Product Design Engineering
- 5+ years’ experience in product development, with a strong portfolio
- Demonstrated ability to create well-resolved, aesthetically considered and manufacturable product designs
- Solid understanding of how things work—with a focus on function and manufacturability
- Great problem-solving skills, and a willingness to get hands-on
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a wider team
- Impressive communication skills – interpersonal, visual, and written
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, and Adobe (or similar) artwork applications
- Familiarity with working under a quality system and technical documentation
