Tutor – Remote

Summary:

The Tutor will provide academic assistance and support to students of all ages in various subjects, including Math, Science, English, Social Studies, and test preparations. They will develop individualised tutoring plans, deliver effective tutoring sessions, and track student progress.

Responsibilities:

• Assess student’s academic standing and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop individualised tutoring plans to meet student’s academic goals and needs.
• Deliver effective and engaging tutoring sessions that incorporate various teaching methods.
• Help students with exam preparations, homework assignments, and developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Track student’s progress and adjust tutoring sessions as needed.
• Communicate with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure student progress and success.
• Provide feedback and support to students to build confidence and motivation.
• Stay up-to-date with curriculum changes and academic materials for the subject area being tutored.

Qualifications: This is a remote contract role for a private tutor at HZ Tutoring, which is located in West Melbourne. The Private Tutor will be responsible for providing personalised academic support to students, developing customised learning plans, monitoring student progress, and helping students prepare for exams. The tutor must uphold the quality of HZ Tutoring with all students.

Pay starts at $35/hour and can be negotiated depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

(1 of the following):

4+ years of previous tutoring or teaching experience.

Teaching degree or studying for one (E.g. Master of Education).

98+ ATAR

45+ Study Score in one or more subjects.

Valid Working with Children Check in Victoria

Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly

Passion for education and helping students succeed

Ability to tailor teaching methods to suit the individual needs of each student

Knowledge of relevant subjects and curriculum requirements

Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards learning
