About the role:  

Hygain is looking for a fit, active and reliable all-rounder to join our production team in Officer on a full-time basis.  This hands-on role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly yard environment while operating industrial sweepers and general plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities:        

• General yard duties, including waste management and site tidying.
• Perform daily pre-start checks, basic routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Ensure our farmers waste is wrapped as per company standards.
• Strapping of recycle pallets.
• Inverting Damaged Pallets.
• Safely operate and maintain the industrial sweeper to clean yard, asphalt, and warehouse surfaces.
• Identify and report any safety hazards or maintenance issues immediately.
• Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies and procedures.
• Assist with unloading and loading of trucks.
• Assist with tipping of raw materials.
• Assist with unloading and loading local and export containers.
• Gain a basic understanding of the weighbridge function.
• Competently operate a truck to complete deliveries as required.
• Assist the production team as required.

About you

To succeed in the role, you will require:

• Previous experience operating a sweeper, forklift or similar machinery in a yard or production environment.
• Valid Australian drivers licence and HC licence. A MC licence would be advantageous.
• Strong  mechanical aptitude and safety-first work ethic.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and take on additional tasks as needed.
