Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Full Time (Perth)

About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Paediatric Occupational Therapist to provide assessment and therapeutic support to children with developmental delays, disabilities, or additional needs. The role involves working with children and their support networks across a variety of settings including home, school, clinic, and community environments.

You will support children to develop functional skills, independence, and participation in everyday activities while collaborating with families, carers, and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and deliver therapy services to children
  • Develop and implement individualised intervention plans
  • Monitor and review client progress toward goals
  • Provide written reports and maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, and stakeholders
  • Liaise with other allied health professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Provide education and guidance to support ongoing development
  • Essential Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional body (e.g., AHPRA)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Desirable

  • Experience working with children
  • Experience in community, home, or school-based services
  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to determine clients’ needs and develop treatment plans
  • Work with clients to develop goals and objectives for therapy
  • Implement therapeutic activities and exercises to help clients achieve their goals
  • Monitor clients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Educate clients and their families on how to use adaptive equipment and techniques to improve daily living skills
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure clients receive comprehensive care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients’ progress and treatment plans

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology
  • Experience working with clients of all ages and backgrounds
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
