Bookkeeper
Part-time
Northbridge | Hospitality & Property Group
About Marlin Group
Marlin Group is a private Perth-based company with over 30 years’ experience across the hospitality and property sectors. With fourteen operating segments and more than 300 employees, we manage a diverse portfolio including hotels, taverns, residential subdivisions, and urban rezoning projects.
We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our Accounting team at our Northbridge head office, working closely with the Company Accountant across multiple venues and business units.
About the Role
This is a varied, hands-on position supporting multiple venues and entities. No two days are the same — you will need to be comfortable switching between tasks, managing competing priorities, and maintaining a high standard of accuracy across everything you do.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Processing invoices and ensuring creditors are paid within agreed terms
- Data entry and maintenance of MYOB for assigned venues and business units
- Bank account and general ledger reconciliations
- End-of-month balance sheet reconciliations
- Weekly payroll processing
- End-of-quarter procedures including preparation of statements for taxation authorities
- Cashflow management and reporting
- Generating and analysing financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- General administrative and accounting support as required
About You
This is a hands-on, practical bookkeeping role — not a graduate position and not a stepping stone into accounting. We are looking for someone who has been doing the work, knows MYOB inside and out, and takes pride in getting the detail right every day. A formal accounting qualification is
desirable but will not substitute for practical bookkeeping experience.
Essential requirements:
- Proven, hands-on experience using MYOB/XERO Accounting Software in a real workplace (essential —please address this specifically in your cover letter which platform you have experience with)
- Strong attention to detail with solid numerical and analytical skills
- Experience working across multiple entities or business units
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
You will also have:
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience in hospitality or a multi-venue environment
(desirable but not essential)
Returning to the workforce?
We warmly welcome applications from experienced bookkeepers returning after a career break. If you have solid MYOB experience and practical bookkeeping skills, we’d love to hear from you. Please note this role is not suited to accounting graduates seeking Australian work experience or candidates looking to transition from accounting into bookkeeping.
Why Choose Marlin Group?
- Competitive salary
- Flexible part-time hours — 3 to 5 days per week, school
hours considered
- Role primarily based at our Northbridge head office
- Significant staff discount programs across our venues, including a monthly food voucher
- Long-term career stability within a large, established group
- Opportunities for professional growth and development
- Inclusive workplace that values diverse backgrounds and experiences
