We are seeking a hands-on Transport Supervisor to lead day-to-day transport operations at our Wetherill Park site. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on the ground, leading people, and keeping a busy delivery operation running safely and efficiently.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Transport Manager, the Transport Supervisor will oversee the daily performance, compliance, and coordination of transport operations at the Wetherill Park site. You will be the on-the-ground leader for drivers and contractors, ensuring deliveries run on time, safely, and in line with company standards. This role will focus on delivering strong outcomes across Cost, Quality, Safety, and Compliance at a site level.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day transport and despatch operations at the Wetherill Park site, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, on time, and in full.
- Coordinate daily driver and contractor rosters, allocations, and route plans to meet service level requirements.
- Oversee loading, dock, and despatch activities, ensuring efficient turnaround and adherence to safety procedures.
- Conduct pre-start checks, toolbox talks, and site inductions for drivers and contractors.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), WHS, and fatigue management requirements.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and service failures, and implement corrective actions.
- Build strong working relationships with drivers and contractors, providing day-to-day coaching, feedback, and support.
- Track daily performance against KPIs and report issues, trends, and improvement opportunities to the State Transport Manager.
- Work closely with warehouse, routing, and planning teams to resolve service issues and improve delivery outcomes.
- Support the onboarding of new drivers and contractors, and assist with broader operational improvement initiatives.

You bring strong attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to keep a fast-paced delivery operation running smoothly day to day.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience supervising transport, freight, or last-mile delivery operations
- A working understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR), WHS, and fatigue management requirements
- Experience leading and coaching drivers or contractors in an operational environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a calm, hands-on approach under pressure
- A current driver’s licence and flexibility to support early morning or variable shift starts
