About the Role

We are seeking for a Platform and Security Operations Manager to join our Adelaide team. In this role, you will run the infrastructure, hosting and cloud beneath live service, run security operations day to day, and run the technology HAMBS itself relies on to operate. The role keeps the platform HAMBS and its customers depend on stable, observable and secure.

Responsibilities

• Provide infrastructure, hosting and cloud support across live service at the second and third line, including networks and virtual machines.
• Run and support the hosting and cloud platforms for customers in live service.
• Provide platform and database support for the live environment.
• Manage capacity across the infrastructure and cloud estate against demand and cost.
• Run security monitoring and the operational security controls for the live environment.
• Work to the security standards and frameworks set by Cyber and Platform Security.
• Work to the boundary with second-line risk oversight under the Chief Risk Officer.
• Run backups and the business continuity and disaster recovery testing program.
• Drive automation and operational efficiency in the running of live service.
• Run the corporate business applications staff use to do their work, distinct from the customer-facing platform.
• Provisions and supports staff devices, identity, and workplace technology.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, hosting or cloud operations, including at least three in a leadership role (essential).
• Relevant tertiary qualification in information technology, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience with underpinning industry based professional development (essential).
• Track record of running hosted or cloud services for external customers (essential).
• Experience running security operations, including monitoring, vulnerability management and patching (essential).
• Experience with backup, business continuity and disaster recovery testing (essential).
• Experience with capacity management and cloud cost management (essential).
• Experience with observability and monitoring tooling (essential).
• Deep technical knowledge of Azure and enterprise networking (essential).
• Willing to build technical depth across the team and share what you know.
• Calm and methodical during an incident.
• Knowledge and experience in the insurance and/or private health insurance sectors (desirable).
• Cloud platform or security operations certification (desirable).
