We’re looking for a motivated Purchasing Supervisor to join our team and take the lead on the day-to-day activities of our Purchasing function. In this hands-on role, you’ll oversee the Purchasing Team and ensure materials and services are sourced efficiently to support our operational needs. You’ll work closely with our Warehouse and Operations teams to manage inventory, coordinate stocktakes and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
The position is responsible for:
- Day-to-day operational purchasing decisions and resolve operational issues within the department, escalating complex matters to the Procurement Manager.
- Approve day-to-day operational expenses, including supplies and rostering costs, within limits set in the Delegation of Authority (DoA).
- Handles day-to-day client communications regarding service delivery and operational issues; escalates unresolved or strategic matters to the Procurement Manager.
- Directly manages Purchasing Officer/s, including task allocation, coaching, and performance reviews; escalates complex employee relations matters to the Procurement Manager or HR.
- Acts as the first point of contact for operational risk and quality concerns; escalates significant issues to the Procurement Manager.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant experience in a similar position with a background or prior experience in Warehousing.
- A positive attitude with a strong focus on integrity and honesty.
- Proficiency in ERP Programs (i.e., Sage or SAP equivalent);
- Superb written and verbal communication skills with the ability to connect with people at all levels of the business;
- Excellent analytical and planning skills;
- Qualifications in Purchasing, Logistics and/or Administrative Management would be highly advantageous.
